Tilly can prepare product information from spreadsheets, PDFs and photos. A clear source still matters: it helps you spot errors and approve the right changes faster.
01. Make each product easy to identify
Use one product or variant per row in a spreadsheet. Include a useful name and pack size, such as Pepsi 330 ml rather than Pepsi. Keep an existing SKU or barcode where you have one. Store identifiers as text if leading zeros matter.
Keep single items and cases separate. A case of 24 cans is not the same stock unit as one can.
02. Label prices and quantities clearly
Separate supplier cost from the price your customer pays. State the currency and make quantity units clear. A supplier invoice usually shows what you paid; it does not automatically provide your selling price.
Remove repeated headings, totals and notes that could be mistaken for products. Keep the original file so you can compare it with the proposed import.
03. Give Tilly a specific instruction
Try: Prepare these products for import. Use the product names and pack sizes in the file. Treat Unit cost as supplier cost, not selling price. Flag anything unclear for review.
Use CSV, TSV or XLSX for structured lists, or a readable PDF or photo when that is your source. For photos, include the whole relevant page and avoid glare over prices or quantities.
04. Review before importing
Open Review & import from Tilly's summary card. Check the proposed creates, updates and errors. Compare a few similar products, especially different sizes, and correct any unclear cells before importing.
Start with a manageable group when you are learning the process. After import, check the resulting products rather than assuming a chat reply saved everything.
