You do not have to type every product from scratch. Tilly can help prepare product information from spreadsheets, PDFs, and photos. You review the result before importing it, so the final check stays in your hands.
01. Start with the clearest file you have
Use a spreadsheet when one is available. Tilly supports CSV, TSV, and XLSX files, as well as PDFs and photos. Keep product names, quantities, and prices easy to identify. For photos, make sure the writing is readable and the important parts of the document are visible.
Keep a copy of your original file. If your list includes different sizes or packs, make those differences clear so you can check them during review.
02. Send the file to Tilly
Open Tilly chat and choose “Import products from a spreadsheet,” or drag your file into the chat. Explain what the file contains and mention anything Tilly needs to interpret correctly, such as pack quantities or which column holds the selling price.
When Tilly prepares the summary card, select “Review & import.” This opens “Review product import,” where you can inspect the proposed changes before anything is approved.
03. Check the details before importing
Review the items marked for creation, the items marked for update, and any errors. Pay close attention to existing products so you understand what will change.
Fix incorrect cells in the review. You can use “Apply to all” for a category or tax setting when the same choice genuinely applies to the relevant products. Remove rows you do not want to import.
- Check names, sizes, and product codes.
- Check quantities, costs, and selling prices.
- Review categories, tax settings, and errors.
04. Import, then check your catalogue
Approve the import when the information is ready. If you choose to skip errors, remember that those rows still need attention; skipping them does not fix them.
Use “View products” after the import and spot-check several items, including any that updated existing products. Confirm that the result matches what you intended before relying on the catalogue at checkout.
