A bookable service should tell the customer what they are getting and tell your team how much time to reserve. Start with a clear service list before opening a calendar.
01. Describe one service at a time
Give each service a name customers recognise. Explain what is included in one or two sentences and note anything that needs a separate booking. Avoid using the same name for services with different durations or prices.
For example, Wash and style is clearer when the description says what is included and whether extra treatment changes the time or price.
02. Record realistic appointment times
Estimate the time needed to deliver the service, then account for preparation and cleanup in your scheduling plan. If duration varies by customer or service option, record that instead of treating every booking as identical.
Check estimates with the staff who do the work. A calendar built around unrealistic times creates delays even when every slot looks available.
03. Match services to people and resources
List which team members can provide each service and which location, room or equipment it needs. Record any limits that affect whether two appointments can happen at the same time.
Keep these requirements together with your service list so you can check the final scheduling options when Services is released.
04. Make pricing easy to explain
A clear catalogue reduces questions before the booking and disagreements at checkout.
- Service name and what it includes.
- Expected duration and preparation time.
- Price or a clear explanation of what determines it.
- Eligible staff and required resources.
